Finally the wait is over! The long awaited HM X Balmain collaboration collection is gonna launch tomorrow (5th Nov) and I know that many people has already started to queue up. This collaboration has definitely caught the eye of many fashion enthusiasts and also created a hot topic in the fashion world. The full collection from menswear to womenswear is full with details that are very contemporary but at the same time I realize that it also has the 80’s retro feel.

Kittie and I did a collaboration fashion shoot with HM X Balmain styling a few of their key pieces from this collection, which vary from modern style to a very retro look which you can see through the pictures. The menswear focuses a lot on sharp rich details that include blazers, outerwear, leather jackets and also biker pants. Since the holiday season is just near the corner, here are some styling that is totally suitable to rock a party or for a simple night out!

The menswear also emphasise on essential outer wear which is particularly strong, with a strictly tailored khaki wool double-breasted coat with an imposing collar, or a neat pea coat with padded quilting on the inside. Meanwhile leather jackets with two-way zips are a new wardrobe staple, in either washed out black leather or red and black. Other than that, this collection also consist of some sportswear influence where you can see me styled from a black hoodie with quilted leather over the shoulders, to knitted track pants with a dropped crotch and vertical stripes running down the outside leg. I think enough of elaboration, let's convey our modern retro story through the pictures!

This collection is so versatile that is suitable from the modern era to the vintage time, and believe me that you will definitely make a statement look with any piece. Head over to Kittie Yiyi's blog to read about her thought on this collection's womenswear!
